This is such a unique way of telling the story of the nine-tailed fox! I really loved the way you made it sultry and horrifying at the same time. Adding the letter and text only doubled the immersion as well. This is so solid for so many reasons. I really hope you plan for the continuing pieces because I would love to follow her story!
Thank you so much 🥹 although I’ve always been interested in the myth surrounding the nine-tailed fox, I’ve never gotten to explore it until now, and I’m glad you enjoyed my take on it! I would love to continue this story, thank you for inspiring me to do so 🖤
This was so good! I've been listening to the Wuthering Heights audiobook and it reminded me how sorely I miss the rich details of gothic writing, and this story really delivered on that front. Can't remember the last time I read something that left me feeling so simultaneously turned on and terrified!
I’m so glad to hear this! I love the depth of gothic descriptions, and I’m glad I was able to recreate that atmosphere in this piece — it was so much fun to write. Thinking about writing a part two in the future…
Yessss!! I loved this!! I've actually been meaning to read your work for a while since I just had a gut feeling I would be into it, and since reading this, it seems that I was right!! I really enjoyed this piece with its religious imagery and gothic feel. I also liked how you incorporated Korean myth!! What a great take on the monthly theme!! Thank you so much for participating!!🖤🖤🖤
Ahhhh thank you so much! 🖤 I’m very glad that you enjoyed the story, it’s one I loved writing and would love to write more on (or at least write more in the same vein). I hope my other stories live up to your expectations, if you get a chance to read them! 😅
You are SO brilliant at bringing a dark atmosphere to life! I loved this first chapter. I’m curious and concerned for Grace all at once! I can’t wait to start the next part of this series 🩷
This was beautifully written and enthralling throughout. I love the different portraits and the way you described the fox woman. I'm excited to see what happens next!
Someone else drew a parallel with gothic literature- and that’s the vibe I get from your richly detailed writing & the overarching themes of good & evil, sinister paintings / decor and a wicked, mythical temptress.
Bravo 👏 I thoroughly enjoyed this first chapter and will return for more

Fusing Christian guilt with the gumiho is an interesting choice. The mythologies don't blend easily, which creates useful friction.
Thank you! It was definitely a choice, but it felt natural while writing it, so I’m hoping that fusion came across naturally as well!
Substacks a fiction hub and youre a damn good dealer. Enticing story. Consider sequels.
Thank you so much 🙏 there will definitely be a sequel, so look out for that!

Thank you for the lovely comment 🖤
Would love to see a part two! It definitely stands alone as a story, but there's also so much lingering mystery to explore!

Very unique take. This feels outside of time, ancient yet new. ❤️
